Guest choreographer Corey Jon Baker

We are excited to announce that guest choreographer Corey Baker will be joining us this June!

Corey went to The Professional Performing Arts high school in New York City and trained at The Ailey School. In addition to dancing professionally with Philadanco! The Philadelphia dance company, Corey was a lead dancer in The Tony award winning Broadway musical “Fela” and most recently in Tommy Mottola’s “Superfly”. Corey has also just released an EP titled ‘Crazy Glue’ and recently returned from a European tour. Corey is an innovative young artist whose work has been celebrated worldwide and we are thrilled to have him be part of the DSBCD family.

Corey will be setting a piece on our students for our “Moving traffic” event June 12th, 2014 at The Abilities Center. A social interactive event using the arts to help and to heal survivors of human trafficking. For more info on the event click here

Our goal with this event is to not only help the girls of the Mahima home, but to build the arts community here in Durham by demonstrating how the arts has the capacity to impact change.

Corey will also be giving a master class on Saturday June 7th, 2014 at DSBCD that is open to all. To register in advance for this class please email us at
