Our Surrender Gala was a spectacular evening of artistic excellence. In honour of mental health awareness and in partnership with The Durham Children’s Aid Foundation, we were able to impact positive change in our community through the healing power of the arts. Thank you to our Gala committee for making this event possible. Event photos and videos will be shared on our website soon, stay tuned!
Thank you to Kevin Broome for your generous support as a Gold Package Sponsor for our Surrender Gala on February 25th, 2017 in honour of mental health awareness!
Kevin Broome is a full service Realtor serving the Durham region for the past 5+ years, an amazing “Dance Dad” and an incredible supporter of DSBCD. We were not surprised when Kevin offered to donate as he always gives of himself and his time in so many generous ways over the years. Your positive energy and helpful nature makes you a leading example of how to contribute and impact community in a selfless way.
Kevin is also a very talented photographer who has taken many beautiful and creative images of our dancers over the years. It is families in our community like The Broomes that enable us to make our outreach initiatives happen. Thank you!

Student spotlight: DSBCD Advanced student Jenna Leach!
Jenna trains in dance full time as an Elite level dancer, assists with younger classes, is a straight A student and works a part-time job enabling her to make a significant financial contribution towards dance fees.
Always smiling, rising to every challenge head on and lending a helping hand every chance she gets. A gorgeous girl and a powerhouse dancer with incredible physical strength and fearlessness.
We are so proud of you Jenna, you are an inspiration for our younger students to look up to! The world is yours, there is nothing you can’t do with the type of determination you have cultivated at such a young age. So excited to see where this season takes you in your final year, your future is so bright, SHINE on!!!
We are now in full swing at the studio and classes are going great! From our Early birds through to our Advanced students, progress and growth is in the air! Thank you to everyone for making the studio feel so positive and full of exciting energy this season.
Giving back is part of what DSBCD is all about! We want to enrich our students through the development of quality arts programs and part of being an artist is being aware of the world around you.
We have two exciting outreach programs currently in motion that we would like to invite the entire school to take part in. Please read below for more details on our “Food for Thought Food Drive” and our “Comfort Me” coat and comforter drive – whether you can contribute in a big or small way doesn’t matter, each contribution helps and together we can make our community stronger!Giving back feels good!
